This drawing had old yellowed tape residue all around the boarders from being taped to the mat. Luckily, the signature had the least amount of damage. The images below show the cleaning progress. The last image is the final result. Picasso is in quotes because it has not been determined whether it is an original or not.
This portrait needed not only rips repaired, and old patches replaced, but also to be re-backed, and old touch ups removed and redone. The majority of the canvas had deteriorated around the stretcher.
The Thangka painting had multiple rips and paint loss. The most irksome were the missing area around the eye, and the two bottom corners. Since it was mounted on a board, I was able to replace the missing fabric with small patches, and in-paint.
